Too Long; Didn’t Listen

Welcome the first-ever “Too Long, Didn’t Listen” episode! We know that you are busy as a super #awesomeadmin, so we’ve put together this monthly re-cap episode so you can hear what you missed and get the main messages from our amazing guests.

In November, we heard from some real-life #awesomeadmins who shared their Salesforce Superhero tips – collaborating, asking the right questions, and using change management methodology.

Jordan ManginiJordan Mangini on being a Salesforce Admin at Salesforce

Jordan Mangini. Jordan is a Senior Application analyst at Salesforce with a BS in Computer Science.

Best practices videos, Chatter Group for collaboration, 3 keys to success: Chatter group, documentation, and mentorship

So one thing that Jordan has to do is to make sure he is asking  the right questions . In the following episode we hear from Kevin Richardson on how getting to the Why will help you uncover the real issue. Kevin gives us a great example with the Washington Monument, let’s listen.

Kevin Richardson on getting to the Why

Principle Customer Success Manager, Kevin Richardson.

Kevin shares with us a great approach that he uses with customers to understand features and functionality by asking Why. While this may sound simple this is a powerful way to understand feature requests. Kevin also gives us a great example of why asking why is important.

Now that you’ve gotten to the why, you now have deliverables to build out. Rebecca shares her story on how her team successfully uses agile methodology to manage all her change requests and uses partner programming to help catch mistakes.

Rebecca Vanderslice on Salesforce & CareerBuilder

Rebecca Vanderslice who is the Salesforce.com Administrator and scrum master for CareerBuilder. She is a Certified Salesforce Administrator and Awesome admin superhero! Rebecca is part of an amazing team at CareerBuilder and works with both analysts and developers. For admins this episode will shed more light on change management, and agile methodology. For solo admins take note at how Rebecca and her team manage user requests and deploy new functionality to users. Of note, I like the concept Rebecca has for “Winter cleaning for triggers”.
